Basic geophysical techniques used in exploration and environmental geophysics, emphasizing seismic and electromagnetic methods. Basic theory, field procedures, and interpretation of data. Use of geophysical instruments on field trips, followed by reduction and analysis of acquired data.
 
Prerequisites
  EPSc 353, Phys 118A, and Math 233; or permission of instructor
 
Schedule
  Two class hours and one two-hour laboratory a week, and approximately four one-day field trips during the semester.
