Back-scattered-electron
image of a lunar impact-melt breccia from the Apollo 14 site.
The matrix is heterogeneous glass containing schlieren, with
a few remnant clasts of plagioclase (darkest gray objects)
that are partially to mostly resorbed. The circular black
areas are vesicles (gas bubbles). The lightest objects are
blebs of meteoritic metal and sulfide and oxide mineral grains.
Field of view: ~0.2 mm.
